All cleaning, sanitation, disinfecting, and screening procedures in this response plan are based on recommendations by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Oakland County Health Department, and Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).

Safety and health of our students, families, and staff has always been top priority for Troy Gym (TG). These policies are in addition to those posted on our website. It has always been our goal to keep our students healthy and we will continue with encouraging proper hand washing, healthy habits, and to prevent sharing of all germs by cleaning equipment, and surfaces frequently while we have students, families and staff at our facility.

Daily Home Health Check

Before heading to your session at Troy Gym each day, please assess your child for symptoms of COVID-19 and do not bring your child if he/she shows any signs illness. Children should not attend if they have had recent contact with anyone who has tested positive to COVID-19.

Symptoms to look for in children:

  • Fever (this is the key indicator of COVID-19 in young children). If the child’s temperature is above 100 degrees, the child will not be allowed to attend school.

  • Cough, Cold-like symptoms including runny nose, cough, vomiting and/or diarrhea.

Fever reducing medication will not be administered for any reason.

A child with any of the symptoms listed above may not return unless he/she has been fever free for 24 hours (without fever reducing medication given at home) and improvement in respiratory symptoms, and at least 10 days since symptoms first appeared. A doctor’s note which states the child is free to return to class may be required.

  • TG will be implementing a hand sanitizing/washing station, med check and temperature check station, along with a strict stay at home policy if symptoms are present.

This will include: washing hands, digitally checking in child, submitting a med check and temperature check for each child, the adult accompanying them, and any other person who is with you that enters our facility or practice area. The med check and temperature check requires our staff to be present with a touchless thermometer.

  • Children and staff will be monitored upon arrival and throughout their session. If any symptoms present, a rescreen will be performed. If symptoms present while the child is in our care, he/she will be isolated from the group and parent/guardian will be called to pick up the child(ren) immediately.

  • If a child exhibits a symptom, he/she and all his/her siblings will be asked to leave the center and not return until all children in that family are fever free for 24 hours and symptom free for 10 days.

  • Staff who present any symptoms during the day will be sent home immediately and not allowed to return until fever free for 24 hours and symptom free for 10 days and/or with a doctor’s note.
